Ok, here me out here, this is a new free agency idea that I think will work and eliminate sniping and the whole bidding process nearly every league has in place.
Free agency will last 3 days with an update at the end of each day.
Each day you will pm your offers for players you are interested in to an account run by Chemo.
At the end of the day Chemo will give updates on each player that is bid on. He will take into account the offers and the teams to decide what the players will choose.
The end of day update would look something like this:
Day 1
Alex Rodriguez- Alex has gotten a lot of interest from many teams, but he feels like he deserves more money than is being offered.
Jonathan Sanchez- Jonathan has gotten a fair amount of interest, but the offer that the Marlins gave is exactly what he is looking for. Jonathan signs with the Marlins for 3 years at 7.8 million per year.
Cesar Izturis- Cesar has had interest from about 3-5 teams, but he is looking for a 4 or more year deal.
These wont be very long write ups, so Chemo isnt up all night doing it.
The format encourages people to send in bids early, as players may want to accept right away, but it also keeps bidding blind so we dont have 84 rated players getting 17 million per year, which has happened.
Let me know your thoughts, I can explain more if there are questions.
